Pregnacare Breast Feeding
Postnatal Micronutrient Tablets
Pregnacare Breast-feeding is an all-in-one pack, formulated with key specific ingredients for the postnatal period, including essential fatty acids such as DHA.
The expert formula also includes 10 mcg vitamin D, the exact level as recommended by the UK Department of Health for all women while breast-feeding.
Support for Eye Function
Each Omega-3 capsule in Pregnacare Breast-feeding provides 300 mg DHA. Maternal intake of DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) contributes to the normal brain and eye development of breast-fed infants.
A beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg DHA in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults.
Support for Brain Function
Infants have limited capability to synthesize fatty acids, which therefore must be obtained direct from external sources such as the mother’s milk.
During breast-feeding, the infants brain continues to take up DHA and 15 per cent of brain growth occurs after birth. Pregnacare Breast-feeding contains the purest pharmaceutical grade fish-oil, produced in Norway.

Great vitabiotics!!! I breastfeed and I express so I need as much “help” as I can get. Since I started taking it I feel more energetic and my milk supply has increased.

I don’t feel any different if I take them or not but as a breastfeeding mother I don’t half feel under pressure to do the right thing! I’m sure they must be doing some good though. The pills are large, and you have to take two large ones and a third one of oil. I wish they could be smaller.

For breastfeeding mothers, as many vitamins and minerals that you can pass on to your child, the better, or so I have been told. My wife took the pregnancy supplements and now takes these as she’s breastfeeding our child. They also contain enough Vitamin D that our child doesn’t need additional supplements. Better value than the high-street for the same item.

If you have taken pregnacare before then same size. If not they can be hard to swallow and taste is not great. Midwife told me just need vitamin d during breastfeeding and not to bother once I have finished this pack.

took the pregnancy ones before the baby arrived; and I have been taking these for 9 months now. I do not trust myself to get all the needed vitamins from food, and these are just a peace of mind for me whilst breastfeeding.
Mumof2 –
Very happy with this product, I had paid nearly £17 for these previously in the supermarket so a huge saving. I feel really well in myself taking these vitamins and I feel that my skin looks healthier too although that may be coincidental!

Misleading – you take 3 tablets a day so it’s only one months supply

I am usually quite skeptical about things like this but I can definitely tell the difference if I’ve gone a couple of days without taking them because I’ve got less energy and general feel more drained. Would recommend them to anyone breastfeeding

I am usually sceptical about the need for supplements if you eat a reasonable varied diet. However when you’re breastfeeding, you’re probably too tired to really do that and existing mainly on biscuits and cold cups of tea. After my first baby, I was constantly ill for about a year: coughs and colds and tummy bugs and just generally felt like rubbish. Your immune system is lowered when you are pregnant and it doesn’t recover for some time. On top of that I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition. My GP discovered I wasn’t taking a vitamin and told me in no uncertain terms I should take one: when you are breastfeeding your body will literally take itself apart in order to make nutritionally balanced milk if it doesn’t receive the required nutrients via food. And don’t I know it!My health steadily improved once I started taking the vitamins, but I put that partly down to my thyroid condition coming under control. I breastfed for twenty months, even during my second pregnancy.Fast forward to baby number two and I started taking these straight away. This time my thyroid behaved. My immune system seemed to recover far quicker and I didn’t have a repeat of an endless succession of ailments. It’s not been perfect: breastfeeding is still draining and difficult at times, as is having two small children and no sleep or bodily autonomy, but at least I know I’m doing something for myself by taking these vitamins.I suppose that’s the take-away: your baby is going to get nutritionally balanced milk regardless of what you eat. There are plenty of studies that show that. But you are important: parenting is hard enough and so is lactating! Make sure your body gets what it needs FOR YOU!The only reason I am taking a star off is because (and this is slightly TMI), sometimes you get a slightly fishy burp from the omega capsule which is a little gross! But a small price to pay for not being constantly snotty.

I really like these vitamins! My midwife recommended the ones for pregnancy and after giving birth these ones.. i was breastfeeding my first baby for 16 months and i was taking them and had no problem he was healthy not getting sick and i was ok except from few times that they finished and it took me days to decide to order them both of us got sick and I was feeling dizzy until i was starting them again! With my second one now I always take them not miss a day!! Good price and fast delivery!!
