Pregnacare Plus dual pack provides the original fully comprehensive multivitamin tablet, which delivers the essential nutrients for pregnancy.
This includes the recommended level of 400 mcg folic acid and 10 mcg vitamin D plus an additional Omega-3 capsule to provide a rich source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which contributes to normal brain and eye development of the foetus.
A beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg DHA in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults.
Vitamin E and D in Pregnancy
The Department of Health recommends that all pregnant and breast-feeding women take a supplement containing 10 mcg vitamin D, which is the exact amount found in Pregnacare.
Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Pregnacare contains a low recommended dietary intake of 4 mg. This is present in the natural form which is better absorbed by the mother than synthetic vitamin E.

I have taken these daily since finding out I was pregnant, they are very easy to swallow and have the day of the week written on the vitamin packet which is great incase you think you have forgotten to take one! The one main thing I have noticed since taking these is how strong my hair and nails are which is a welcome surprise.

Of course it’s difficult to tell with supplements how good quality they actually are, but this doesn’t break the bank and I feel reassured by this brand and the list of vitamins included that I’m giving my baby what she needs. Wanted the omega 3 too and many other brands don’t make fish oil tablets safe for pregnancy. Of course a nutritious diet alongside these is still really important 😉

Great product, I was recommended this product by my GP when I was 5 weeks pregnant. I took it through all of my pregnancy and have continued to use them when breast feeding.Not so bad aftertaste thank god, as I don’t think I could of coped with the fish aftertaste that you get from wellwomans

* What I loved:- Gave me peace of mind- Contains all vitamins and minerals at levels recommended for pregnancy (folic acid, vitamin D) plus loads more- Contains a pregnancy safe form of vitamin A (Betacarotene)- The added Omega-3 fish oils that are pregnancy safe (No vitamin A) and provided at levels recommended by ISSFAL- Blisters had days of the week on- Great value for money on Amazon!- Award winning and supported by The Royal College of Midwives* Things I feel could be improved:- Sizing of the tablets and capsules are pretty big- Fishy aftertaste after taking capsule* My verdictI love these vitamins. I took the Pregnacare Original before conception and for the first few months of my pregnancy. I then switched to the Pregnacare Plus in order to get the added Omega-3 oils. The capsules are jam packed with vitamins and minerals which gave me peace of mind that even though I was eating as healthily as possible, my baby and I were covered in terms of our nutrition. Our little one was born a healthy 7lb 14oz in March and I am still taking these now while I am breastfeeding!I did find that the tablets and capsules were fairly large but are tolerable as long as you drink plenty of water when swallowing. I have read that some women did find that these vitamins did make their nausea worse in early pregnancy, although I did not find that this happened to me personally. I believe that the manufacturer would not be able to reduce the tablet size in anyway due to the sheer amount of vitamins that it is packed with. As previously stated, you can get a fishy taste after taking the Omega-3 capsule, but I found that it can be significantly reduced by taking the capsule at anytime *before* you have finished your meal.5 stars *****I would recommend these vitamins as they help you to cover all the major bases before, during and after your pregnancy. These are also great for women who find (like I did) that they are suffering from food intolerances and aversions to foods they would have otherwise have eaten (especially fish) to maintain optimum nutrient intake.I find that these are particularly useful during breastfeeding as I am finding it much harder to eat as healthily as I did during my pregnancy as a new mum with a demanding baby!

I ordered these as iv had pregnacare before only this time wanted to try the plus ones due to the omega 3 capsules.I really regretted it as soon as i started taking these from day one i started getting really bad nose bleeds due to taking both together so stopped and only take the tablets.So waste of money as these didn’t last long and not cheap as I missed the offer on them but glad I didn’t buy more.

Provides everything you need however make sure it’s takdn with your main meal on a night. I started taking first with my breakfast and found I could taste fish oil.if you forget to take it then don’t consider taking it without food, made me feel really sick
